Q: Why do you have my data and send me an email?
A: Because when we run our searches, your data was found to have illegal content.
Q: Did you make a mistake?
A: It's possible our search bots made some false positives but we manually check upon receiving replies.
Q: I don't believe you, can I see proof?
A: Of course, just ask and we will provide. We will not provide photos or videos of illegal content, we will provide text based files only.
Q: I didn't do this, I was hacked and they did it.
A: We know you were hacked, this is how we have your information. Unfortunately for you, we can also see times and dates on the files and they take place prior to any hack.
Q: What should I do?
A: You should contact us, we will manually search and verify the content, we will also provide steps on what to do next.
Q: Do you report everyone?
A: No, a majority of those contacted are willing to co-operate and cease this behaviour. In those cases the data will be deleted and they are allowed to go on with their lives. All others do get reported though.
Q: I am underage, will you let me go?
A: No, your age has no bearing on this, it is illegal no matter your age.
Q: Will you contact my family?
A: Possibly. If you do not reply to us, notifying the family is one of the options along with reporting to the authorities.
Q: How do I know you delete the data?
A: You may request that we provide video evidence of the deletion.
Q: Why do you contact friends and family members?
A: In most cases the people involved are around young children and we feel the parents have a right to protect their children from this.
Q: How can you report when it's from stolen data?
A: We didn't steal it. Private citizens are not subject to the same data protection laws as the police, we also do not have to prove chain of custody. Many countries will allow this evidence due to the subject matter, regardless of the origin. What we provide is often more than enough for the authorities to secure a search warrant on their own and then they can recover the data for themselves.
Also, in many countries, it is actually illegal to NOT report this once you are aware of its existence.
Q: Why can't I just delete everything myself? I can close my social media accounts etc...
A: Because that is only your side of it, we retain data which can very easily identify you. Refer to the main pages for the process.
Q: I called the police and they said to ignore this.
A: This is why they are not in court rooms arguing the laws. It is not possible for the police to understand every law or circumstance, they may not be aware of previous cases or the full extent of the data we have.
Courts — not police — ultimately decide what’s admissible, and that happens with input from prosecution, defense, and a judge. So even if a police officer says “don’t worry about it,” it’s not a legal guarantee.
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: Because there is too much of this content online, there are too many people getting away with it, and too many of these people are around young children.
We want it stopped and until that day, we will not stop.
Q: I had a happy life, why are you trying to destroy it?
A: We are not, you brought this on yourself the moment you chose to search this content.
